Description:

A mature jalapeño fruit is 2–3½ inches long and is commonly picked and consumed while still green. Jalapeno is great for growing in containers and pots, they are nice looking emerald green plants with pretty white flowers and produce medium-sized chilli.

Green Jalapeno Pepper Care:

  • Sowing: Fill the growing tray with seed-starting soil mix and plant the green jalapeno seeds 1/4 inch deep in the tray. Water the seeds immediately after sowing.
  • Germination time: 7-10 days
  • Soil: Jalapeno thrives in a number of soil types and temperatures. It does best in loamy, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter.
  • Fertilizer: Use organic fertilizer like vermicompost.
  • Watering: Plants must be kept watered during hot and dry periods.
  • Sunlight Requirement: Full sun and nice warm temperatures are important when growing green jalapeno peppers.
  • Good intercropping partners: Swiss chard, Lettuce, Spinach,  and rosemary.
